Will visits each of the inhabited islands, weather and tides permitting. The itinerary varies from week to week. Tours usually leave at 9.45 from St.Marys' quay for the Off Islands most week days between April and October apart from when I am away working or when I have groups - see News page for those dates. On Tresco we take a look around the inland pools, perhaps stopping at the hides to view the resident and migrant waterfowl. We then cross the Island via the farm tracks encountering a variety of flora and fauna. We will spend the morning on St. Agnes exploring the environs of the pool and the surrounding patchwork fields. Depending on the state of the tide, the afternoon is spent on either Gugh or Wingletang Down. Our time on Bryher is spent following the coastal paths from the sheltered southern beaches in the morning, then via the pool to the rugged expanse of Hell Bay later in the day.The sheltered farmland is our first destination on St.Martins, with a stroll around the coast in the afternoon scanning for passing sea birds and examining the local flora. After inspecting the town beaches of St. Marys for sea and shore birds, we end the morning in Lower Moors. After lunch we head for Porth Hellick returning via the coastal path and back to Hugh Town.
Lunch is taken each day at one of the local pubs, hotels or cafés.For a full day guided walking tour the charge is just £20.00. (Lunch not included). Half day tours are available at £10 per morning. There is no need to book, its just a matter of turning up at the appointed time and place mentioned in my adverts on my Island Wildlife Tours board on the quay or in the weekly' Whats On' sheet available from the Tourist Information Centre here in Hugh TownFor Off-Island tours the price of the boat journey needs to be added.(Private groups catered for. Please call for daily rates)See boards on quay for other possible trips with Will.My daily programme of walks begin in April and finish in mid October, numbers and weather permitting.
